SENIOR EXERCISE CLASS
Senior Exercise Class is led by Sandy Bodamer, Senior Activities and RHY Wellness Director from the YMCA, from 11 to 11:45 AM Tuesdays in the gym of the Thomaston Academy Building (on the lower level), and Thursdays in the Community Conference Room on the second floor (upstairs from the main room of the library, and accessible by elevator). On Tuesdays, the class is limited to 8 participants, and on Thursdays to 6 participants – first come, first served – due to COVID-19 restrictions. The class is also offered as a video recording online afterwards for anyone who is not able to participate in person. Contact us at library@thomastonmaine.gov for more information.
Sandy began her career at the Pen Bay YMCA when she moved to Maine from Pittsburgh. Her love of fitness and working with others has kept her at the Y for 20 years. She loves working with the Active Older Adult population, helping to improve the quality of health and wellness through her classes and outreach in the community.
Everyone is welcome (please note the current class size limitations detailed above). There is no charge but donations are gratefully accepted. The Friends of the Thomaston Public Library are sponsoring the program. You can come when you wish and do not need to commit to any term.
The class focuses on standing and chair routines and we use light weights, balls, and resistance bands. Please join us!
