ADOPT A LIBRARY CAT!
Our current library cat:
We were thrilled to become a satellite adoption site for Pope Memorial Humane Society and begin fostering cats in March 2025. Giving cats a comfortable environment outside of the shelter that encourages their personalities to shine, while still allowing them to met potential forever (fur-ever?) families has been incredibly rewarding for both the library staff and our patrons. Some cats are only with us for a week, and others were resident library cats for a little longer, but we love them all! Pictures of our previously adopted library cats are below.

If you are allergic to cats, feel free to call us at (207) 354-2453 prior to your visit, and we will be happy to make accommodations. Depending on the severity of your allergies and the purpose/length of your visit, we can temporarily relocate the cat to a different area of the library, offer curbside services, or explore other alternatives. We are happy to work with you!
